Outdoor Play is the Best!

Blog Article

At Endless Discoveries Child Development Center, we understand the importance of outside time. There are many benefits for children of all ages when they engage in outdoor play. That's why we schedule 45 minutes of playground time every morning and 45 minutes every afternoon for each classroom.

If your child is spending time staring at electronics, join them in some physical activity, whether it's playing at the park, hiking, playing ball, or just exploring the back yard. You'll see an improvement in their mood and overall health, and yours too!

Challenge your child to become stronger, more agile and coordinated with climbing, riding, throwing, swinging and crawling. Their self confidence will be improved also, and they will be less likely to be overweight.

Playground time also provides an opportunity for children to develop socially and learn important social skillls such as empathy, cooperation and friendship, qualities they will take into adulthood. Children who play outside have an opportunity to develop observational and reasoning skills. When children spend time outside, they form a greater appreciation of nature as they are listening to the birds, discovering interesting insects and lizards, and watching the sunset.

Children who play regularly outdoors are able to experience more sensory engagement and use all five of their senses. They also build independence and have a sense of freedom while exploring a park or playground and inventing new games with friends, trying new things, and testing their capabilities without the feeling of constant adult supervision.

The great outdoors can be unpredictable, which helps children learn to adapt to unexpected situations. Problem-solving, playing make-believe, and testing the limits lead to more confident individuals.

Meeting people from different backgrounds and encountering all kinds of children can expand your child's world view and understanding how they fit in.

The benefits of outdoor time are unlimited. The staff at Endless Discoveries encourages you to think up new and exciting ways to enjoy outside activities with your child.
