Safety in Our Schools

Blog Article

October is School Safety Month, and Endless Discoveries takes safety very seriously every minute of every day that children are in our care.

Safe schools promote the protection of all students from bullying and harassment, violence and abuse, exposure to weapons and illegal substances, risk of illnesses, emergency situations such as adverse weather and terroristic threats, and unsafe conditions on playgrounds and buses.

Our Parent Handbook addresses all of these issues:

Building Security - Our door access system restricts entry to ony authorized people, and sign-in and sign-out procedures are adhered to. Streaming video provides additional monitoring of classroom activities.

Outside Play - We follow strict guidelines for outside play according to the heat index or wind chill, and our playgrounds exceed minimum safety requirements set by the state.

Bullying and Harassment - Any child or family member who is a safety threat is subject to suspension or expulsion.

Child Welfare - All staff members are mandated reporters if we feel a child is being abused or neglected. We limit time in care to ten hours per day for the welfare of each child, and we closely monitor nutritiional needs.

Weapons and Illegal Substances - Weapons and illegal substances are prohibited on the premises, and our schools are designated gang-free zones within 1,000 feet.

Exposure to Illnesses - Health and sanitary precautions are taken seriously at all times.

Adverse Weather and Terroristic Threats - Procedures are in place for emergency situations such as tornado alerts and terroristic threats.

Bus Safety - All Endless Discoveries vehicles are equipped with seat belts, and bus safety rules are strictly enforced.

All staff members are thoroughly trained to ensure safety of every child in our care, and any concerns are addressed immediately by management. We are always open to new ideas for adding more safety measures.
